Toute une litterature confirrne la proposition gkntrale de Bandura selon laquelle il existerait une relation entre la performance et les attentes likes A I'auto-efficacitt (par ex.: Bandura, 1980; Bandura, Reese, & Adarns, 1982). Des travaux plus recents ont etabli I'existence d'un rapport entre I'auto-efficacite et le comporternent professionnel (par ex.: Barling & Beattie, 1983). Cet article presente un panorama et une rneta-analyse des decouvertes sur la relation existant entre I'auto-efficacitt et les'cornporternents relatifs au travail. L e s recherches passees en revue ont 6th proposdes par des bases de donnees informatisees. On presente aussi bien des recherches quantitatives que qualitatives. Globalernent, les resultats de la mCta-analyse confirment I'idte que I'auto-efficacite est correlte avec la performance ( r aprts correction = 0.40) et avec le choix du comporternent ( r aprts correction = 0.34).
