Primary malignant triton tumor of the foot

Primary malignant triton tumor of the foot The malignant Triton tumor is a relatively rare, usually aggressive sarcoma comprised of both malignant schwannoma cells and malignant rhabdomyoblasts. Histopathologically the tumor is described as malignant with neurogenic and myogenic differentiation. A review of all reported cases of Triton tumors in the literature calls attention to their tendency to occur in neurofibromatosis. In this report we present a malignant Triton tumor of the foot not associated with von Recklinghausen's neurofibromatosis. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png European Journal of Plastic Surgery Springer Journals

Abstract

The malignant Triton tumor is a relatively rare, usually aggressive sarcoma comprised of both malignant schwannoma cells and malignant rhabdomyoblasts.
