L "E rcu xccl , , so lautet der Sibylle Prophezeiung1), und allgemein bekannt sind die Worte, in denen Tertullian darauf hinweist, wie jene Wahrsagung in Erf llung gegangen sei.2) Allein die sibyllinische Weissagung betreffs Delos' hat in der sp teren christlichen Zeit noch eine weiter gehende Wirkung gehabt. In den um das Jahr 486 n. Chr. entstandenen Gesta de nomine Acacii erz hlt der Verfasser von den Teilnehmern der R ubersynode zu Ephesus und berichtet dabei: Interfuerunt etiam viccvrii ab apostolica sede dvrecti lulius Puteolanus episcopus, H arus curehidiaconus urbis, guia presbyter Renatus in Delo insula morte praeventus est So die Ausgaben (zuletzt bei Thiel, Epp. Romanorum pontificum l p. 512); allein die handschriftliche Lesart ist anders. Die l ngere Form8) der Gesta liegt uns in zwei Rezensionen vor: einmal, und zwar am reinsten4), in der sog. Avellanischen Sammlung, deren allein mafsgebende Handschrift, der Vatic. lat. 3787, in Adel o insula darbietet. Dafs dies in Wahrheit die urspr ngliche Lesart ist, ergiebt sich daraus, dafs auch die zweite Rezension ohne jeden Zweifel einst dasselbe hatte und wenigstens eine ihrer drei Handschriften noch hat; denn auch der Vatic. Regin. 1997 liest Addo.
