The Morphology and Taxonomy of South African Kallymeniaceae Introduction The Kallymeniaceae, a family of chiefly membranous red algae, is often a conspicuous component of the littoral and sub-littoral flora in temperate seas. The South African representatives of this family, despite their abundance and large size, have been little studied.
