Tagung in Oxford 2003/I.O.S.O.T.-Kongress in Leiden 2004 Mitteilungen TAGUNG IN OXFORD 2003 »Sacred Conjectures. The Context and Legacy of Robert Lowth and Jean Astruc«. St. Catherine's College, Oxford 8.­10. April 2003: The year 1753 saw the publication of two major works of Old Testament scholarship: Jean Astruc's Conjectures on Genesis, and Robert Lowth's On the Sacred Poetry of the Hebrews. Both have had repercussions in biblical study down to the present day. In the 250th anniversary year, Oxford will host a conference on these two figures in their eighteenth-century context and in later reception. Speakers will include Pierre Gibert, Otto Kaiser, Stephen Prickett, John Rogerson, and Rudolf Smend.
