RULES

RULES for submitting papers in the Journal of Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems Author(s) should submit two hard copies and electronic version in LaTeX, AmsTex or PlainTex. The beginning of the paper should contain: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Title of the paper. Short title (no more than 50 characters) for page headers. Authors' names. For each author: full mailing address, e-mail, phones &: fax numbers. Abstract (not more than 0.5 page). The paper should be divided into sections numbered by arabic numbers starting from one, subsections and subsubsections. The numbering of Lemmas, Theorems, Corollaries, Definitions, Statements, Remarks, Examples, Claims, etc. is: 1) inner for each section, e.g., theorems are numbered as 1.1, 1.2, . . . (in Section 1), then 2.1, 2.2, ... (in Section 2), etc. Ends of proofs also should be clearly marked, for example, by a black square. The numbering of Problems is universal: Problems 1, 2, . . . . The numbering of displayed formulas is inner for each section. For example, displayed formulas in Section 1 are numbered as (1.1), (1.2), . . . , in Section 2 as (2.1), (2.2), Displayed formulas iu the Abstract should not be numbered. If you have pictures, graphs, etc. in your paper, you can either use standard TeX graphical procedures (for very simple pictures) or prepare pictures in some graphical editor and send us they in one of formats: .eps, .ps, .bmp, .pcx. The numbering of Figures is also universal throughout the paper: Figures 1, 2, 3, -- (if necessary, use also numbers with letters: Figures la, Ib, ...). If the last section is entitled "Appendix" (or anything similar, e.g., "Appendix: Proof of Theorem 1.1") and the only numbered objects in it are displayed formulas, then this section can be left unnumbered, and formulas can be numbered as (A.I), (A.2), But if there are theorems, lemmas, etc. in the Appendix, please number Appendix in usual way as a usual section. The bibliography should be ordered by alphabet (first author, second author, . . . ) . The references to the works by the same author(s) are ordered by the publication year. The items in the list of references are numbered by arabic numbers. If for some items the author(s), the year and, moreover, the journal where they appeared are the same, chronological order should be used in any case. If a publication was translated into English, only the English translation should be cited in the bibliography. If the language of the publication is other than English, French or German, it should be specifed explicitly, e.g., " . . . (in Russian)." Managing Editor: Professor, Dr. Sc. S. I.
