Die Verneinung eines Modalverbs kann sich entweder auf die gesamte Proposition oder auf das Modalverb selbst beziehen. Derartige Unterscheidungen» die auch oft formal unterschiedlich ausgedrückt werden, machen für Lernende von Fremdsprachen den korrekten Gebrauch der Modalverben besonders
