Editor’s page We are making slow but steady progress in achieving wider coverage for our bibliographic listings of new African published materials. This issue includes details of 315 new titles from 53 publishers and research institutions of fourteen African nations. What is noteable is the fact that 28 of these make an appearance for the first time, either in ABPR or in African Books in Print, which has now been published as reported elsewhere in this number. We are aware that our coverage of francophone African publications is still far from satisfactory, despite the fact that publishing output in the French-speaking countries of Africa is of course much smaller than that in the anglophone areas. We are about to embark on yet another campaign to secure better coverage of books from publishers and research institutions in French-speaking Africa and we have also just appointed an associate editor, Alain Ricard, to assist in this task. While we are indebted to the many African publishers who have thus far supplied information promptly, meticulously and comprehensively, the successful continuation of ABPR will depend on even more active co-operation from publishers in all parts of the African continent, and their providing data on a http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png The African Book Publishing Record de Gruyter
