1977 Linguistic Institute of the Linguistic Society of America will include special offerings on language planning. The 1977 Institute, which will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, July 11-August 18, 1977, will include 10 courses and 3 workshops on language planning. The courses will range from introduction to language planning to description of socio-economic-political processes accompanying and explaining language planning to methodology for use by language planners (research methods, implementation, evaluation). The workshops are especially designed for practitioners (lexicography, terminology, mass media). The staff include Robert Cooper, Joshua Fishman, John Gumperz, Björn Jernudd, Lachman Khubchandani, Jiri Nuustupny, Joan Rubin, Einar Selander and Ladislav Zgusta.
