247 UAE: FEDERAL LAW NO. 23 OF 1991 REGARDING THE REGULATION OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION We, Zayed ibn Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates in cognisance of the Provisional Constitution and of the Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 regarding the capacities of ministries and the powers of ministers, and the amendment laws thereof, and of the Federal Law No. 10 of 1973 regarding the Federal Supreme Court, and the amendment laws thereof, and of the Federal Law No. 6 of 1978 regarding the establishment of Federal Courts and the transferral thereto of the jurisdiction of local legal judicial institutions of certain Emirates, and the amendment laws thereof, and of the Federal Law No. 9 of 1981 regarding the regulation of the translation pro- fession, and of the Federal Law No. 3 of 1983 regarding the Federal Judicial Authority, and the amendment laws thereof, and on the basis of that which has been presented by the Minister of Justice, and the agreement of the Council of Ministers, and the confirmation by the Supreme Federal Council, Have issued the following law: CHAPTER I AIMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE PURSUIT OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION Article 1.
