Trinity as Communion in the Spirit: Koinonia, Trinity, and Filioque in the Roman... 209 Trinity as Communion in the Spirit: Koinonia, Trinity, and Filioque in the Roman Catholic-Pentecostal Dialogue Veli-Matti Kärkäinnen According to Ralph Del Colle, a Catholic trinitarian the- ologian, "the Pentecostal-charismatic experience is intrinsical- ly trinitarian in structure." He contends that through "the pneumatic effusion of Spirit-baptism the Christian is empow- ered with the Holy Spirit in the mission of Jesus Christ to the glory of God the Father." 1 That all Pentecostals are trinitarian in their spirituality and faith2 is a fact without much dispute, even when we take into account a fairly large number of Pentecostals, in a conservative estimate about one-fourth of all Pentecostals, who are known as "Oneness Pentecostals." Oneness Pentecostals, sometimes also known as "Jesus Only" Pentecostals-since they baptize in the name of Jesus only-do adhere to a trinitarian understanding, albeit on the economic level only.
