GENERAL Mention should be made in the first place of Tomas Navarro, Documentos lingiiisticos de Aragon, Syracuse, N.Y., Syracuse U.P., 1957, a long awaited work which afforded important data to scholars before publ. ( YWML, iii, 84). When finally in print the ed. was destroyed during the Spanish civil war. One copy was saved and has now been produced in offset. The work was originally intended as vol. II of the Documentos lingiiisticos de Espana ( ed. R. Menendez Pidal). The present collection consists of 150 docs, ranging from 1255 to 1494, all in Aragonese without admixture of Latin, 26 from J aca, 46 from Huesca, 24 from Sobrarbe, the remainder from the boundary zones of Barbastro, Ribagorza, and the Cinco Villas.
