GENERAL Understandably, the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo is reflected in many articles and several issues of journals are devoted to discussions of the theme in various literary genres: e.g. Savremenik, no.6 and Knjizevnost, 1-2. D. Moracic gives a short bibliography of articles published in Kjfrom 1979 to 1988, Kj, 36:71-107. Bosnian literature is becoming increasingly an autonomous area of study, indicating a need for reappraisal of traditional divisions: Z. Lesic examines five Bosnian writers, including Kocic, Andric, and Samokovlija, Pripovjedali, Sarajevo, Veselin Maslesa, 1988,447 pp., and the tradition of story-telling in the older literature of Bosnia and Hercegovina, /zraz, 65: 383-426 and 66: 159-79; D. Durickovic, ib.: 228-48, examines three types of contemporary novel in Bosnia, including the work of the NIN prize winner Vojislav Lubarda. B. Stojanovic compares the poetics of satire in Serbian and Slovene Romantic literature, ZMS (Sl), 35, 1988: 41-59; M. Kvapil discusses the 'fin-de-siecle' among the South Slavs, Slavia, 58: 242-46. 2.
