Kenneth Shapiro S&A : The Second Decade EDITOR’S INTRODUCTION O n t he o cc asion o f th e 10th anniv er sary of the publication of Society & Animals , we are pleased to announce several changes. Beginning with the cur- rent volume, the journal will publish 4 issues per year. To accommodate this increase, we have invited 5 scholars to be Associate Editors of the journal: Clint Sanders, University of Connecticut; Erica Fudge, Middlesex University, UK; Carol Raupp, California State University, Bakerseld; Lyle Munro, Monash University, Australia; and Lynda Birke, University of Lancaster, UK. I am very grateful to Arnie Arluke who for 10 years served as the lone associate editor, providing the journal and me personally with much needed edi- torial judgment, support, and occasional attempts at humor. As announced in calls for papers in earlier issues, we will devote the last issue of volume 10 to brief essays on the state of Human-Animal Studies and to the presentation of the winning essay of a competi- tion for the best paper in this new interdisciplinary eld. We continue to invite book length manuscripts for our new book series on Human-Animal Studies. Society & Animals
