Heidegger’s lectures on Schiller are the result of a great deal of work on art: his fi rst lecture course on Hölderlin (1934–35 winter semester); An Introduction to Metaphysics (1935 summer semester); the fi nal 1936 Frankfurt lecture, Th e Origin of the Work of Art ; and his fi rst course on Nietzsche, Th e Will to Power as Art (parallel to the Schiller lectures: 1936–37) .
