Via the EM website for the Journal at www .editorialmanager.com/jre , authors are guided step-by-step through the submission process. Th e system automatically converts source fi les to a single pdf that is then used in the peer-review process. All correspondence between editors, authors and reviewers proceeds via EM. In addition to this, the Journal of Religion in Europe now off ers ‘Fast track’, an option to establish a temporary online ‘home’ for those journal articles that are just fi t-to-publish but cannot yet be assigned to a journal issue or volume. Th e fi nal journal article contains a DOI (Digital Object Identifi er) which for Fast track is included in the running headers. Upon completion of an issue, the typesetter will redo the headers and paginate the piece. Referring to a Fast track
