Variations in the population structure, sex ratio, and fecundity were studied. The population comprised all stages of the life cycle year round, thus showing continuous reproduction. Juveniles represented 6.1 to 56.4%, and are directly recruited within the population. Females consistently predominated over males, of- ten by a ratio of more than 3 : 1. Gravid females carry 8-85 eggs and 12-77 embryos in the brood pouch.
