Proofreading has not been done with the desirable care. To mention some more conspicuous cases: p. 39 n. 73: as is evident from the English translation, a full line of the German quotation has been dropped; p. 60 1.2 from the bottom: instead of "analogy" read "apology"; p. 63 n. 31, last line: instead of "Bezug" read "in Bezug"; p. 76 1.13 from the bot- tom : instead of "Namantius" read "Namatian"; p. 87 1.10: instead of "epiphonese?" read "epiphõnësis"; p. 118 1.20: instead of "symptus" read "sumptus"; p. 157 1.6 from the bottom: instead of "dissertimus" read "dissertissimus" (this mistake is repeated on the middle of p. 159); p. 224 between 11. and 4 from the bottom: insert "1962"; p. 232 nr. 157 instead of "Dauviller" read "Dauvillier". Greek quotations have not left the printing-office without injury. The title of the book has been borrowed from Philo's Q,uis rerum divinarum heres sit 285, cf. the Preface by E. HILGERT on p. xv.
