Immigrants and Ethnic Minorities in the EU (Ashgate Publishing, 2007), isbn 978-0754648901 (hardback) John Wrench, Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, aims to provide an overview of recent developments in the emerging fi eld of diversity man- agement strategy in employment applied to immigrants and ethnic minorities in the European Union. Th e well-structured monograph fi lls a gap in the literature, insofar as no other book has traced the recent development of diversity management strategies in Europe in such a concise way and in that it compares this tendency to management practices that originated in the United States in the late s. Because the European labour market nowadays faces an increasingly diverse workforce in terms of ethnicity, language and religion, the question of how fi rms and private companies deal with this situation becomes a relevant and emerging fi eld of further elaboration. Th e scope of the book is limited to the private sector, which is a welcomed counterweight to the various studies about anti-discrimination in the public realm.
