After fif' teen years with Ghana Universities Press, he recently founded Woeli Publishing Services, which publishes fiction and non'fiction by Ghanaian authors and offers back-up ser' vices to other publishers in Ghana. G h a n a was t h e first African country south of the Sahara to throw off the colonial yoke. She had the fortune (or misfortune) of h a v i n g in Kwame Nkrumah a firebrand leader with ambitious social• ist visions of an egalitarian society where everybody had everything they needed.
