This volume assembles in an updated and revised English version seven of the author's articles published in Spanish in various periodicals, all dealing with Aramaic texts from Qumran. The author is to be con- gratulated for rendering his work more accessible to a wider scholarly public. With the growing number of new Qumranic Aramaic texts now available for study, a volume such as this is very welcome. The author renders a useful service in placing in the hands of scholars a series of major Aramaic texts with summaries of earlier as well as more recent research. The scope and selection of the volume is indicated by its contents: the book consists of seven chapters, each devoted to a different work. Although interrelated, each such work involves distinctive features and a peculiar set of problems. Chapter one deals with 4Qmess ar ( = 4Q534) and the Book of Noah (pp. 1-44).
