Editorial The year just past saw some far-reaching rejuvenation in our Editorial Board. A number of the more senior editors, some of whom had been associated with Quaerendo in that capacity since its inception in 1971 , have retired to make way for a younger generation. Others indicated their wish to pass on the baton on account of their heavy workload elsewhere. With deep gratitude for all they have done for us over a period of many years, we have said goodbye to Dr Frans F. Blok, Dr Marie-Thérèse Isaac, Dr Francine de Nave, Prof. Pieter F.J. Obbema, Marcus de Schepper, Prof. Ludo Simons, Prof. Janos A. Szirmai and Prof. Hendrik D.L. Vervliet. In their place we welcome Dr Arianne Baggerman (Erasmus University Rotterdam), Professor Jos A.A.M. Biemans (University of Amsterdam), Dr Berry P.M. Dongelmans (Leiden University), Professor August A. den Hollander (Free University, Amsterdam), Professor Márika Keblusek (Universities of Amsterdam and Leiden), Professor Lisa A. Kuitert (University of Amsterdam), Dr Otto S. Lankhorst (Nijmegen), Dr Jan Pauwels (Royal Library of Belgium in Brussels) and Dr Hans W. Renders (University of Groningen). It is not impossible that in the current year they will be joined by a further few editors: in particular, following the death of Bram Schuytvlot we are in need of at least one new Managing Editor to strengthen the team. We hope that with the input from our new recruits our journal will continue to re fl ect all currents in bibliography in the Low Countries. © Koninklijke Brill NV, Leiden, 2006 Quærendo 36⁄1-2 Also available online – www.brill.nl Quaerendo 36,1-2_475_1 5/2/06 8:34 PM Page 1
