EDITORIAL The Journal of Pentecostal Theology (JPT) is a new publication designed to facilitate constructive theological research from a Pentecostal perspective on an international scholarly level. The journal is edited by Rick D. Moore, John Christopher Thomas and Steven J. Land, all from the Church of God School of Theology, along with an editorial advisory board composed of leading figures in Pentecostal theology from all over the world and from a wide diversity of cultural backgrounds, ecclesial affiliations and academic specializations. Since its emergence near the beginning of the century, the Pentecostal movement has experienced phenomenal growth. Beginning among the poor and marginalized, the movement’s adherents may now be found in all socioeconomic strata as well as every major segment of the Christian church, extending a century-old tradition whose global breadth is matched by a spiritual depth and passion. It is estimated that there are now over 380 million individuals who would identify themselves as part of the Pentecostal-Charismatic movement. This rapid numerical growth has been attended by a marked development and increase of scholarly activity within the tradition. - The inauguration of this journal marks an important new phase in the history of critical-constructive Pentecostal scholarship-a history
