Between Self-showing and Withdrawal: Heidegger’s Question of Being Reconsidered

Between Self-showing and Withdrawal: Heidegger’s Question of Being Reconsidered This article focuses on two Platonic concepts, δύναµις and χώρα, and Heidegger’s interpretation of them in his lecture courses on Greek philosophy. I try to demonstrate that these two concepts offer us insights into the dynamic movement of Being between self-showing and withdrawal. The aim of the article is to show that Being, as one of the greatest kinds in the Sophist, and the elusive χώρα in the Timaeus can open up new perspectives on the Heideggerian question of Being. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Research in Phenomenology Brill

Abstract

This article focuses on two Platonic concepts, δύναµις and χώρα, and Heidegger’s interpretation of them in his lecture courses on Greek philosophy.
