Vinogradov In 2002 in the south-east part of the Upper city of Olbia a white-marble pedestal (Fig. 1) 1 was found in the territory of the citadel of the Roman period (sector R-25). 2 It had been reused as part of the in- fi ll to make a level surface beneath the beaten-clay fl oor of a room dated to the 1 st century AD on the basis of the materials found there. The dimensions of the pedestal are as follows: length – 44 cms, height 28-29 cms and width – 47 cms. It has survived almost intact with a few pieces broken o ff the top and also the upper parts of the front and right side.
