Een uiteenzetting van Hollaks begrip van Hegels filosofie en zijn metafysische gevolgtrekkingen uit dat begrip (2013) present a brief exposition of the main and secondary themes of their dissertation. The main theme is the pursuit of the adequate philosophical exposition of man's intrinsic relation with the absolute, and the secondary theme is the way in which this relation has taken an inadequate shape in modernity and how this determines the contemporary sense of life. The authors call the metaphysics unfolded by Hollak in his writings a "personalistic metaphysics". This is a timely accentuation, broadening and deepening of the Aristotelian definition of the "first philosophy" as the philosophy of being as being. Thus this personalistic metaphysics is a critical confrontation with the principles of (late) modernity.2 The first part of the present article is devoted to the philosopher Hollak; the second part presents a discussion of the gist of our dissertation. 1.
