Jewish Schools and Learning Rabbi Hugo Gryn as Preacher a tIMELESS tEaCHEr B'nai B'rith Hillel House, London 30 May 19731 Leo Baeck (London) Lodge, B'nai B'rith UK Symposium Dear Brothers and Sisters and Friends, Having already heard about Leo Baeck from three distinguished speakers, there is not a great deal more that I can contribute to this Symposium.2 However, I believe that I was Dr Baeck's last student, and it is from this point of view that I should like to make my remarks. It was Dr Baeck, together with the late Rabbi Dr A Lowenstamm and the late Dr Bruno Italiener,3 who provided me with a series of insights into Jewish studies. They were far more than teachers in an academic sense; rather, they were living examples who, I must confess, I find it still challenging and difficult to follow. May I bring to you greetings from another institution that bears Leo Baeck's name, and that is the Leo Baeck College. It is very important that two aspects of Baeck's life should be perpetuated.
