RIT's BS program in software engineering: a status report In the fall of 1996, the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) enrolled the first students in its undergraduate software engineering program. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first program in the U.S. leading to a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering.
