The "guess the geezer" session used eight photos I had taken during the development of Fortran 90. For each of the eight photos there was the statement that the "You might be a Fortran old geezer if ..." you could identify certain people and/or activities in the photo. The target date for having this website active is early August 2003. Marry Greenfield initiated the Saturday morning session with some cherished memories of his long tenure in Fortran standards work, and ended his remarks with an eloquent plea that the history of the Fortran standards work be collected, maintained, and archived for public access. By the end of the reunion Jeanne Martin had committed to gathering a complete set of (X3)J3 and WG5 papers, since the start of those organizations. A number of people took pictures at the reunion, and of course there are scattered photos from meetings past. Though informal and sporadic, such photos seem also to capture an aspect of Fortran standards history, and Jerry agreed to assemble and maintain a photo archive; this archive will be available on the J3 website. The photo archive is organized into a set of photo "galleries", and the initial version will contain a few galleries: the guess-the-geezer quiz, submissions from people at the reunion, and photos from old meetings. More galleries will be added from time to time, and anyone may submit Fortran standards related photos for the archive. Each photo will have a caption, including the names of the individuals appearing in the photo and/or a short story pertaining to the photo, as appropriate. Such a caption should be included with each photo submitted. Fortran Trivia Questions Jeanne T.
