I am pleased to be invited to speak on the issue of partnerships and collaboration between information specialists, librarians and computer/technology specialists. Over the past several years, I have indeed given considerable thought and time on just this issue through work on my campus and in the national arena within CNI & Educom. There are many opportunities that exist but also many sink holes that await us both in ignoring these opportunities AND in pursuing them. I believe that our two professionals groups - library and computing professionals - have a significant leadership role to play and contributions to make in our respective institutions and that these contributions will be that much greater if we work together rather than separately.
