While it may be easie r for those with some exposure t o computer science fundamentals t o grasp the more complex aspect s of this technology, it is certainl y written at a level that i s appropriate for the les s sophisticated reader . The discussions in these sections form , on the whole, one of the bette r descriptions of the technical aspects of the field . The latte r three sections highlight the kinds of changes that an "object orientation " will have over th e next few years as this technolog y continues to mature—focusing in particular on hypermedia issues . The first area covered in thi s book is the section on Databas e Systems . It is one of the bes t discussions in the book , describing the historical evolutio n of databases from the early hierarchical and network model s to the more recent model—the relational database .
