Alt, who was assistant chief of the computing laboratory at the National Bureau of Standards, chaired the editorial board from 19.53 to 1958 and received the ACM Distinguished Service Award in 1970. chaired the ACM Committee on Chapters as well as served as vicechair and program chair for the North Jersey chapter. LEE REVENS The late Lee Revens was associated with Computing Reviews from 1963 to 1976, first as managing editor and later as executive editor. MINA REES ERIC A. WEISS ANITA COCHRAN Anita Cochran is in charge of this year ™s 40th Anniversary Committee. A member of ACM since the 196Os, she was with BELLCOMM and Bell Laboratories before joining AT&T in New York City. Cochran first became active in the Washington D.C. chapter of ACM where she served as secretary, treasurer, and chapter parliamentarian. She subsequently Mina Rees, professor emeritus of mathematics at City University of New York, helped organize the mathematics program at the Office of Naval Research in 1946 and was active in the wartime applied mathematics effort. Becoming dean of faculty at Hunter College in 1953, Rees was later involved in the formation of the Graduate School and University Center at CUNY. She is also past president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and previous chair of the Council of Graduate Schools. Eric A. Weiss took his current position as associate editor of Cmputing Reviews after completing a tenure as its editor-in-chief. Weiss was a recipient of ACM ™s Distinguished Service Award in 1978.
