Amplified Optomechanical Transduction of Virtual Radiation Pressure Here we describe how, utilizing a time-dependent optomechanical interaction, a mechanical probe can provide an amplified measurement of the virtual photons dressing the quantum ground state of an ultrastrongly coupled light-matter system.
