Current population 31 projections of a doubling of the number of older adults over the coming decades 32 suggest the possibility of a marked increase in clinical CVD without effective 33 intervention (2). 34 Successful intervention efforts typically are aided by the identification of 35 therapeutic targets, which may attenuate or ameliorate age-related increases in our risk 36 of CVD.
