SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCHOOL AND POPULAR METEOROLOGICAL AND OCEANOGRAPHIC EDUCATION AMERICAN METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCHOOL AND POPULAR METEOROLOGICAL AND OCEANOGRAPHIC EDUCATION Stouffer Concourse Hotel, Crystal City, Va., July 12 -16 , 1989 From July 12 to 16, 1989, more than 200 pre-college educators, as well as school administrators and government officials, will attend the Second International Conference on School and Popular Meteorological and Oceanographic Education. This conference is being organized by tne American Meteorological Society, working through the Society's Board on School and Popular Meteorological and Oceanographic Education. The meeting is cosponsored by the Royal Meteorological Society of the United Kingdom and the World Meteorological Organization of Geneva, Switzerland. Ope n to all interested in science education, the conference will serve as a forum for individuals and groups from around the world involved in meteorological and oceanographic instruction. It will focus on two themes: the role of meteorology and oceanography in the education of students in grades K-12; and methods of increasing public awareness of the services and products provided by national environmental services and the media.
