THE 76TH AMS ANNUAL MEETING was held 28 January-2 February 1996 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting addressed three areas of expanding activity in the AMS commu- CPFflA I nity: education, with emphasis on the AMS initiatives JrLvrln L in K-12 education that have gained national recogni- tion; meteorological applications; and physical ocean- fOVFRAf. F WU V CIvMvl E ography. The meeting featured a "University Night" function to provide an opportunity for alumni, friends, and other attendees to reminisce and watch the Super of the Bowl together, and a town meeting forum on "The Changing Policy Environment: Impact on Our Science and Our Lives" that stimulated a great deal of discus- 76t h AMS sion among attendees.
