The American Meteorological Society is pleased to announce the 1994/95 AMS Minority Scholarship. The AMS Minority Scholarship will award funding t o minor- ity students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences. Students must plan t o pursue careers in atmospheric o r related oceanic and hydrological sciences. Donations made by members to the AMS 75th Anniversary Campaign will fund the scholarships. The two-year scholarships are for $3000 per year (second-year funding depends on successful completion of the first academic year). Minority students who will be entering their freshman year of college in the fall of 1994 are eligible t o apply. Three scholarships will be awarded in 1994. All applications must be received by 14 January 1994. Students must include an application form, an official high school transcript showing grades from the past three years, a letter of recommendation fro m a high school teacher o r guidance counselor, and a copy of scores from an SAT or similar national college entrance exam.
