AMS/INDUSTRY/GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP/FELLOWSHIP RECIPIENTS Because encouraging outstanding young scientists is vitally important to our nation's future, the American Meteorological Society, in continuing cooperation with three in- dustry leaders and six federal agencies, announces the 2002/2003 AMS/lndustry/Gov- ernment Graduate Fellowship recipients. A fellowship has also been made possible through the generous contributions of AMS members to the AMS 21st Century Campaign. Par- ticipating organizations, all noted for civic consciousness as well as for expertise and leadership that brought them to global prominence, have made it possible through their generous contributions to present fellowships to bright young students who are pursu- ing advanced degrees in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.
