Chubb, U.S. Navy, 6 August 1994. recently retired after 29 Roberts has been a member of the AMS since years of service. At the 1947. He received the Broadcasting Seal of Approval time of his retirement in 1961. He presented his first weathercast on WDSU- he was the commander TV in 1949, becoming the first television meteorologist of the Naval Meteorol- on the Gulf Coast. He organized a professional meteo- ogy and Oceanography rological consulting service in 1946, which continues Command , Stennis to operate under the name Nash C. Roberts Jr. Space Center, Missis- Consultants, Inc. He is currently the hurricane special- sippi. ist on WWL-TV, Channel 4. Chubb graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor's degree in physics and oceanography Syukuro Manabe, senior research meteorologist in 1965. Upon graduation he was commissioned as an at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory of ensign in the navy.
