AbstractThe Ocean Products Center (OPC) represents a consolidation of personnel from different parts of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The purpose of OPC is to generate and disseminate various marine meteorological, and oceanographic analyses and forecasts. Emphasis is placed on using real-time data, analysis, and forecast fields from operational numerical weather prediction models to produce relevant products for marine applications. This article describes some of the operational products that are routinely disseminated to various users, and research activities for improving the quality of the operational products and the generation of new ones.
