Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society 1263 The American Meteorological Society is pleased to announce the recipients of the 1995/96 AMS/lndustry AMS/ Undergraduate Scholarships. Thirteen leading envi- ronmental science and service corporations and one federal agency have joined with the AMS to offer these scholarships in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. The scholarships, awarded forthe junior and senioryears, are designed to encour- age outstanding undergraduates to pursue careers in the fields covered by the awards. The scholarships are based on merit and are awarded to students who have shown the potential for accomplishment in these fields. The award is $2000 for a nine-month period in the junior year, and an additional $2000 for a nine-month period in the senior year based on performance in the previous year. The organizations that joined with the Society in this program are Hughes STX Corporation; Science and Technology Corporation; Vaisala, Inc.; Alden Elec- tronics, Inc.; Radian Corporation; The MITRE Corpo- ration; Concurrent Computer Corporation; Handar Inc.; AAI Systems Management Incorporated; Na- tional Council of Industrial Meteorologists; Belfort In- strument Co.; Particle Measuring Systems, Inc.; EARTH TECH; and the Office of the Federal Coordi- nator for Meteorology.
