Antimicrobial Evaluation of 1-Methyl-3-Nitro-1-Nitrosoguanidine

Antimicrobial Evaluation of 1-Methyl-3-Nitro-1-Nitrosoguanidine Antimicrobial Evaluation of 1-Methyl-3-Nitro-1-Nitrosoguanidine D. E. Hunt and R. F. Pittillo Kettering-Meyer Laboratories, 1 Southern Research Institute, Birmingham, Alabama 35205 ABSTRACT 1-Methyl-3-nitro-1-nitrosoguanidine was shown to have in vitro antimicrobial activity against fungi and gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria; it was also shown to have in vivo activity in mice experimentally infected with Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli comparable to that observed with penicillin or streptomycin sulfate. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Applied and Environmental Microbiology American Society For Microbiology
