Purpose The purpose of this study was to examine the background, care-seeking behavior, and certain social-psychological characteristics of medically indigent mothers enrolled in the Memorial Hospital Well-Baby Clinic, in order to learn more about factors acting as deterrents to well-child care and to proVOL. 56, NO. 8, A.J.P.H. vide information which could be used to decrease missed appointments in the clinic.
