The committee has held several meetings over the past year. The Ethics Committee, C. H. Hardin Branch, M.D., chairman, considered a number of individual complaints and presented these cases to Council in executive session for final decisions. The committee is working on developing ethical guidelines on matters relating to the mass media and to levels of confidentiality, particularly in relation to computer printouts and third party payments. The Membership Committee, Leon Yochelson, M.D., chairman, processes applications for membership at large, nominates candidates for fellowship upon recommendations received from District Branches, and considers all matters pertaining to rights and classifications of members. The Nominating Committee, Jack R. Ewalt, M.D., chairman, is appointed annually and presents to Council nomination for officers and councillors.
