Temperature structure functions in turbulent shear flows

Temperature structure functions in turbulent shear flows The inertial-range behavior of measured temperature structure functions, up to order 12, is compared with predictions by the log-normal and the β model. Both models are unsatisfactory from a quantitative viewpoint. The comparison between measurements and models indicates that the intermittency of the temperature field is different from that of the velocity field. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Physical Review A American Physical Society (APS)

Abstract

The inertial-range behavior of measured temperature structure functions, up to order 12, is compared with predictions by the log-normal and the β model. Both models are unsatisfactory from a quantitative viewpoint. The comparison between measurements and models indicates that the intermittency of the temperature field is different from that of the velocity field.
