Importance of one-gluon exchange for understanding Q ¯ s mesons

Importance of one-gluon exchange for understanding Q ¯ s mesons The strange quark in most applications can be considered as light and, consequently, one-gluon exchange effects in hadrons containing strange quarks are small. We point out, however, that they are crucial even for a qualitative understanding of certain phenomena. In particular, the recently measured surprisingly large hyperfine splitting in D s can be attributed to this effect. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Physical Review D American Physical Society (APS)

Abstract

The strange quark in most applications can be considered as light and, consequently, one-gluon exchange effects in hadrons containing strange quarks are small. We point out, however, that they are crucial even for a qualitative understanding of certain phenomena. In particular, the recently measured surprisingly large hyperfine splitting in D s can be attributed to this effect.
