Three NOAA buoys deployed forecaster s and oceanographers to obtain detailed time series informatio n fro m remote , data-void marin e areas in near real- Thre e air/se a interaction drifting (ASID) buoy s wer e deployed time . These buoys are presenting forecasters with quality, i n the severe winter weather environment of the data-sparse measure d surface marine weather observations impacting Nort h Atlantic Ocean durin g Decembe r 1982.
