McGill Forms Climate Research Group special news feature DIRECTOR CLIMATE AND GLOBAL DYNAMICS The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of its newly created Climate and Global Dynamics (CGD) Division. The new division is com- posed of the Climate, Large-Scale Dynamics and Oceanography Sections of the former NCAR Atmo- spheric Analysis and Prediction Division, and the Nat- ural Systems Group, and the Environmental and Societal Impacts Group of the NCAR Advanced Study Program. CGD research will be focused on global climate and its relationships with other elements of earth's geophysical environment. Major areas will be Charles A. Lin and Lawrence A. Mysak theoretical and observational studies of the dynamics and thermo-dynamics of the atmosphere and oceans, and interactions among the atmosphere, the oceans, land surfaces and the biosphere.
