The book's outstanding feature, which made the original edition so valuable and has been carried over and amplified in the second edition, is the emphasis on approach to the plain film and simple format for arriving at a differential diagnosis. The book is handsomely illustrated with quality pictures, instructive diagrams, and valuable charts. The authors have expanded the material to include congenital heart disease as it manifests itself in the adult patient. All other chapters have also been extensively updated, and two new chapters on cyanotic congenital heart disease and complex congenital heart disease have been added.
