The book is written so that all may read and understand the emotional problems of breast feeding. In addition, sinceearly infant care is handled with sensitivity and understanding, new mothers would benefit from reading the book whether they nurse their infants or feed them by bottle. Except for the first chapter which is in the form of a sermon, the book offers a new mother a sound basis in support of her desire to nurse her infant and to ward off external pressures which are ever present to discourage and confuse her. It discusses straightforwardly such problems as old wives' tales and the role of the family and of the father in the success or defeat of the mother's attempt at breast feeding.
